Mario & John (Firefly/John Pratt Band) are currently in the studio in Los Angeles & Las Vegas recording their album Uncharted Waters, sound clips will be available soon. The album’s release date has been brought forward and will be announced as soon as possible.
Uncharted Waters will be now released before Shadows & Light.

Mario is proud to announce that he’s teamed up with renowned English luthier Marty Siggery of Siggery Guitars who is in the process of building Mario two 100% handmade custom guitars to Mario’s specifications as part of a new endorsement. Readers of guitar magazines around the world will be familiar with Siggery Guitars who are notorious for their outstanding build quality, tone and intonation and hailed by critics and professional guitarists alike.
Mario said earlier today: “I’ve known Marty for a very long time, fans of my 1991 album The Magician will remember that Marty actually played bass on it. Marty always had an uncanny way with guitars, he became quite a legend on the UK guitar scene back in the late 80’s and early 90’s with his guitar set-ups and modifications. He’s since blossomed into a truly outstanding guitar builder, the reviews in guitar magazines say it all… Using only the highest quality materials, Marty hand crafts all Siggery Guitars personally, and I’m looking forward to playing my new custom guitars as soon as they arrive in Las Vegas!”

Mario Parga & John Pratt - ‘Uncharted Waters’

More good news for fans of Mario’s guitar playing and music; he’s collaborating on a new studio album with Los Angeles rock singer John Pratt (Firefly/John Pratt Band). The album will be titled ‘Uncharted Waters’ named after one of the songs. Recording will commence later this year, with Mario writing the music and playing guitars and keyboards, and John taking care of the vocals and lyrics. The album will be recorded at both Mario’s studio in Las Vegas, NV and John’s studio in Los Angeles, CA.
Mario said of John: “I’m very excited to be working with John on this album. As well as possessing one of the best voices I’ve ever heard, he’s an extremely musical guy and can play several instruments. Although John’s probably best known for his performances as a frontman on the L.A. rock scene back in the 80’s and 90’s , he also composes music for motion picture soundtrack and has an impressive résumé featuring many top Hollywood movie and TV studios.”
The album is scheduled to follow the release of the new album from Mario Parga & Lee Small, more details of both albums will follow soon.

New Black Widow Album
Despite several internet based press and news bulletins, Mario is not scheduled to play on the new Black Widow album ‘Sleeping With Demons’.
Mario & Vegas Guitars part company
The new Mario Parga ‘signature’ guitar by Vegas Guitars is no longer available due to the amicable parting of Mario and the Las Vegas based guitar company in April.
Mario explained: “The prototype guitar I’d been playing developed some unexpected technical issues. In it’s then design, the guitar wasn’t stable and developed some tuning issues. As Vegas Guitars are a small independent guitar manufacturer, it would have been too much of an undertaking for them to start work on another prototype. I would like to point out that this news should in no way reflect on any of the other Vegas Guitars models.”
Lee Small - ‘Annie’ (Through The Eyes of Robert Lees, 2008)
Fans of Mario’s guitar playing and music will be pleased to know that as well as his new solo album Shadows & Light, the new Savage Paradise album and a new ‘un-plugged’ album, this year Mario is also collaborating with British singer Lee Small (Shy/Phenomena/Lee Small) on a special studio album that has yet to be titled. Mario will write the music for the project and play the guitars and keyboards whilst Lee will provide his voice, lyrics and vocal melodies.
Mario said of Lee: “Lee possesses an amazing voice full of soul, emotion, passion and range, and on top of this he’s a super-nice guy. We’ve been aware of each other’s music for a while, and the opportunity to work together on a joint project has now arisen. I’m looking forward to working with Lee and hearing his voice in collaboration with my music.”

The new studio project featuring Mario Parga (Mario Parga/Cozy Powell/Forcefield) on guitars, Kevin Valentine (Kiss/Cinderella/Lou Gramm) on drums, Tim Luce (Alcatrazz) on bass and Eric Ragno (Takara/Vox Tempus/China Blue) on keyboards have today announced that singer Tony Martin (Black Sabbath) has left the project due to other commitments. Tony has been replaced with the legendary Graham Bonnet (Rainbow/MSG/Alcatrazz).
Mario Parga today issued the following statement:
“Tony was unable to record the new Savage Paradise album due to personal and business commitments. We’re still good friends and will undoubtedly work together in the future, and I wish him great success with his own projects.
I’ve known Graham (Bonnet) for over twenty years during which time we’ve been very good friends, he’s like an older brother to me. We’ve worked on several recordings together but never played in the same band so we’re both looking forward to working within Savage Paradise. Graham doesn’t need any introductions, everyone knows what a unique and totally amazing voice he possesses and I’m very excited and pleased to have him onboard.”
Mario Parga is pleased to announce his new endorsement with Texan pickup manufacturers, Rio Grande. Mario uses their ‘Barbeque Bucker’ in the bridge with the ‘Genuine Texas Humbucker’ in the neck on his guitars.
